Reflexology
Reflexology is complementary, holistic therapy and as such treats the
whole person, not just their prevailing symptoms. It encourages the body
to work naturally in restoring it’s own natural balance. It can
be used as a general treatment or to help with particular conditions (please
see maternity reflexology for pregnancy related
information).
Reflexology can offer the following benefits:
- Relief from stress related conditions including anxiety and tension
- Promotes better sleep
- Improved energy levels
- Helping the body to heal itself and speeding recovery from illness and
injury
- Reducing chronic pain
- Reducing tension headaches / migraines
- Lowers blood pressure
- Promoting general wellbeing
During the treatment pressure is applied to the reflex points on the feet or hands (which are connected to distinct areas of the body via energy channels called Meridians).
Through in depth training, a reflexologist will feel differences in the reflex points. The reflexologist will work these points with specific techniques, encouraging the body to heal itself.
Reflexology is suitable for all ages - I treat tiny babies as well as the more senior generation. As each person is an individual, so each person will feel differently after a reflexology treatment. Most people will experience a sense of well-being and deep relaxation.
